A baseball star from Southwest Virginia will be honored in Richmond today.

The Tazewell, Virginia native is one of the founding board members of the 2nd Chance Learning Center.
The center is working to lower the drop-out rate in Southwest Virginia by providing free counseling, tutoring, and mentoring to students with social and learning problems.
