BLACKSBURG,
Va. (AP) -- Virginia Tech's Queen
Harrison has made the U.S. Olympic Team.
Harrison earned a spot on the team after taking second
place in the 400-meter hurdles Sunday at the U.S. Olympic Trials in Eugene, Ore.
Virginia Tech says Harrison
is the school's first female athlete to become a member of an Olympic team, and
only the second Hokie athlete to do so. Men's basketball player Bimbo Coles
competed in the 1988 Olympics.
Harrison had suffered a
hamstring injury earlier this month and had to withdraw from the NCAA Outdoor
Championships.
